Accepting the 2017 Blue Ribbon Award for Central Catholic High School in Bloomington, part of the Catholic Diocese of Peoria school system, is Mr. Sean Foster and Mr. Frank Arnolts III. The award was received in Washington D.C. from the U.S. Department of Education. Central Catholic was nominated for Exemplary High Performing School.
Central Catholic High School is a comprehensive,
coeducational, four-year high school with a college-preparatory emphasis within
a Christ-centered environment. Our parents are assured that we will continue to
teach the values they teach at home. Our students meet Jesus on a daily basis
and are supported by those around them in their Faith journey. We offer the
best education available in the area from teachers who come early and stay late
to support their students. Central Catholic students acquire 21st century
skills and graduate as college-ready young men and women. We are the highest
ranked school south of the Chicago suburbs in the Washington Post's
"America's Most Challenging High Schools" index. Our success on the
field of play is matched by our students' work in the classroom. Over the past
two years, every one of our athletic teams has achieved the Illinois High
School Association (IHSA) Team Academic Award for achieving a 3.0-grade point
average during their season of play.
At Central Catholic, we challenge our students, faculty,
staff, and friends to Aspire to Be Saints. It is a daily challenge with eternal
rewards. Accepting this challenge requires daily growth in mind, faith, and
spirit and trust in God's plan for us. This challenge cannot be found in any
other high school in our area and embracing this challenge means joining the
Central Catholic Family and working together as we Aspire To Be Saints!
